Weekly Report
Nancy Mclain - District 3
Arizona House of Representatives

June 5 , 2006
Everything seems to be in a stalemate right now -- the budget, the illegal immigration plan, the ELL situation, and my Colorado City school bill.  I'm used to being more in control about what's going on in my life or business, but with the Legislature I'm at the mercy of others.  Very frustrating!

I've been given permission to take a few days away from Phoenix as so little is going on.  I will be in Lake Havasu City Monday night for a meeting of the London Bridge Republican Women.  On Tuesday, Gov. Napolitano will be in Kingman for a luncheon, and the Speaker of the House thought it was important for me to be there to greet her.  So I will be at the Capitol only Wednesday and Thursday this week.

Next Monday I leave for the Western Legislative Academy in Colorado Springs, CO for a week of really intense sessions.  Those who have attended in past years say it was a very worthwhile event and they learned a lot, so I'm looking forward to this trip.

Unless there's some really exciting news about what's happening at the legislature, I won't be doing a "weekly report" next week.  I hope to have some interesting items to share after my upcoming trip.

Until then,

Nancy
